Emma completed an undergraduate degree in Kinesiology in 2008. She then pursued a Dental Hygiene Diploma from Camosun College in Victoria BC, in 2010. She spent four years in private practice, honing her skills in laser gum therapy, oral cancer screenings, and TMJ therapy. In 2014, Emma opened her own dental hygiene clinic in Vancouver BC. For a decade, she offered preventative dental hygiene services, laser teeth whitening, and oral cancer screenings at her practice.
In 2023, Emma began teaching in the dental hygiene programs at University of British Columbia (UBC) and Vancouver College of Dental Hygiene. She developed a deep passion for teaching and aimed to become a permanent faculty member in a dental hygiene program. In pursuit of this goal, Emma sold her Vancouver clinic in April 2024 and relocated to Vancouver Island, where she now works as an associate at an independent dental hygiene clinic in Nanaimo and teaches at Vancouver Island University.
Emma is pursuing a Master of Education for Health Care Professionals at the University of Saskatchewan. She plans to teach full-time and support independent dental hygiene clinics during the summer months.
Outside of her professional life, Emma embraces the beauty of Vancouver Island, exploring its wonders with her husband, son, and their dog.dog, Gru.
