Why we do what we do

We have been providing education for 8 years, in dentistry, especially the young graduates. Here are some of their challenges they are sharing:
  • I don't know what to do with infection control because what I have learned at school is so different
  • My office does not require perio charting, is that normal?
  • One of the dentists in my office is diagnosing caries a lot more frequently than the other dentist, I am morally challenged 
  • I don't know how to scale furcation
  • I feel as if no one is appreciating how hard I work, is it time to ask for a raise?
  • When am I supposed to refer to a periodontist?
Those challenges are also not specific to new graduates. They are everyday events that we experience everyday. 

We want to be part of the solution for the Canadian dental hygienists, and solve struggles through education, support, and creativity.

Dental hygiene is a rewarding profession and believe that there is a way to be better together.

Apply to be on the advisory committee

We would like to invite professionals with different expertise to support our RDHs. Duties include:
  • Meet once a year for an annual strategic meeting
  • Provide a minimum of 1 course
  • Be on the pulse of dentistry and bring news, new findings, research etc. to the committee to discuss
  • Advise on the creation of education "tracks" (example: what are 5 essentials courses on instrumentation)
  • Record a minimum of 1 interview, to meet and greet our users and share anything useful
  • Recommend topics and speakers
