Course description
The Medical and Dental Emergencies Refresher Course for Dental Hygienists is an intensive program designed to update and enhance the emergency management skills of dental hygienists.
This course covers a broad range of potential emergencies, from common dental issues to rare but critical medical situations, and provides the latest guidelines and best practices for handling them effectively.
Participants will engage with interactive modules that provide practical insights and reinforce their ability to manage emergencies confidently and competently. -
Objectives
Angie Lehman, RDH, COM
Angie earned her Associate Degree in Dental Hygiene from Pennsylvania College of Technology in 1999. She began practicing Orofacial Myology in 2012 and received her Certification from the International Association of Orofacial Myology (IAOM) in 2014. She is currently serving on the Board of Directors for the IAOM. Angie is the owner of Oral Myofunctional Therapy of York (OMT of York).
As a Certified Orofacial Myologist, Angie provides caring, individualized therapy for patients of all ages with Orofacial Myofunctional Disorders (OMD’s). She is passionate and enthusiastic about prevention and treatment of the causes of OMD’s rather than just treating the symptoms. Her fun and relaxed approach to the elimination or Oral Habits has proven to be very successful.
Her expertise includes Sucking Habit Elimination, Tongue Thrust correction, Oral Rest Posture Therapy and the recognition of tongue and lip ties and their influence on orofacial growth and function. She works in conjunction with, and is well respected by local Dentists and Orthodontists, Speech Pathologists, ENT’s, Lactation Consultants, and other skilled medical professionals.
