For the everyday RDH

Why this course?

  1. It is difficult to filter through the information on Orofacial myology since many sources of information seem to conflict with each other
  2. “Tongue thrust” is the most recognizable buzz-word surrounding myofunctional therapy, but it does not encompass all that therapy entails
  3. Oral Rest Posture is not taught in dental school, or dental hygiene school, yet incorrect Oral Rest Posture affects almost 40% of our patient population
  4. Interdisciplinary treatment is essential when treating OMDs, yet, it is often difficult to collaborate when we don’t know how to effectively communicate our findings
  5. Many companies are developing “myofunctional appliances”, but there is no one-size-fits-all solution for OMDs, therefore, it is imperative that we have trained Orofacial Myologists in dentistry
